Matz, Managing Director

Daniel has produced, presented and managed more
than fifty shows in New York City, including Synapse’s 2006 production
of Norman & Beatrice as well as The God Botherers,
There Goes The Neighborhood, and 2004's Drama Desk Award-nominated
ANIMAL FARM (the Puppet Musical) and 1984. He was
Managing Director of the Chekhov NOW Festival from 1999 to 2002,
producing, among others, seven Cherry Orchards, five Vanyas,
three Seagulls and at least two Sisters. Educated
at SUNY Binghamton, Columbia University and the College of William
& Mary, Daniel has produced Shakespeare and Gozzi in Brooklyn’s
Prospect Park as well as new works including The Master of Prayer
and Rothschild’s Fiddle. His productions have been seen as
far afield as Russia and West Virginia.
