The Federal government now has the power to detain any non- citizen indefinitely without trial?

HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE?
The world of George Orwell's 1984 is a world devoid of civil liberties. The government, known as "the Party," fabricates a never-ending war to keep its citizens in a constant state of conformity, antagonism and fear. Citizens are under 24-hour surveillance by "Big Brother;" inside every home is a Telescreen that cannot be turned off, droning endlessly with brainwashing propaganda while simultaneously transmitting sounds and pictures back to the dreaded Thought Police.

Alan Lyddiard's new adaptation of the novel is adrenaline- spiked and digitally-remastered for the 21st Century. Orwell's text has been transformed into an indictment of our present-day complacency in the face of the ever-increasing power of governments, corporations and technology over our lives.

1984 was originally written as a warning against one possible future; this production places that future in our present, and asks if it is too late to turn back.
