2004
Last autumn, we welcomed Jeryl Rothschild to the Synapse Board
of Directors. Since then, Jeryl has been leading the charge to expand
our board and broaden our funding base. This spring, we are pleased
to announce that the Board of Directors has unanimously elected
Jeryl as its Chair. We are extremely grateful to her for taking
on this role and for her commitment to Synapse's future success.
Of Synapse, Jeryl says: "The wonderful thing about this company
is that they are working to make a difference in this world, and
that, combined with fantastic theatre, is what sets them apart."
Priority One for Jeryl is helping Synapse to capitalize on the success
of the Orwell Project by working to increase individual and institutional
support for future projects including a national tour of ANIMAL
FARM, as well Synapse's next season of provocative theatre.
Jeryl is a Certified Financial Planner and holds an MBA from the
University of San Diego. She has worked as an advisor for several
major financial institutions, and prior to starting her own firm,
JR Realty Management, she was a consultant to Chase Manhattan Private
Bank. Jeryl is also an active board member of the Organizing Committee
for Project Cicero, a partnership of public and private schools,
whose primary goal is to develop classroom libraries for children
in under-resourced New York City public schools.
